what is SOPA and PIPA?

SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect Intellectual Property Act) are two bills in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate respectively. As the bill drafting committee, these bills are efforts to stop copyright infringement committed by foreign web sites, but, as the people on the Web suggest this would cause a serious damage to the free and open Internet.

I am totally against it. Surfing the net has been very helpful to me  since I’m a student and all my needs for school are found online. It aim to strike a blow to Internet piracy by fundamentally changing the way that both the Internet and our legal system work.

Passing this bill will bring no good to the congress since it has not been a major problem of the economy but rather a threat to the intellectual property of some people.

People like us specially the students will be greatly affected from this. We strive to gather information from various sources with our limited time so we need online materials to help us with this.
